- Description: Lake Powell is incredible for its beauty and weather. Once a canyon much like the Grand Canyon, it was dammed to create a drinking water reservoir. My family and I houseboated on it for a week, and what a delight! Here, grandson Nolan has climbed a cliff, after a rainstorm and just before sunset, and sits, just wondering at his world!
