Description: This little Ponderosa Pine tree near Woodland Park just west of Colorado Springs Colorado has so much determination. The winter snow and spring rain showers gradually, but continually erode the hillside. You can see the deep grooves cut in the land surrounding it, but the roots go deeper and deeper each year as it maintains its stronghold. The green of the tree set against the iron rich soil creates a beautiful contrast.
Brief Directions: From Colorado Springs, CO take Hwy 24 west to Woodland Park, CO.
Best Season: Spring
