• Description: I discovered my depth of field preview button, and have learned that with it, I can pick an aperture that correlates precisely with my point of focus. I love it. These aren't dunes...they are mounds of elephant seals who spend the winters on the beach mating. The alpha male gets to mate with the herd, and has to fight off the challengers. There's a beta male too, who gets the leftovers when A-man is engaged. The male spends one-third of his body weight, each season doing that. They are mammals, but can dive to 5,000 feet and hold their breath for ten minutes+. On land, they sort of dig their flippers in and lunge forward to move.
