The echinopsis, sometimes known as the flying saucer cactus, blooms only at night once a year. I was fortunate to be there early in the morning before the blooms withered. The plant is a source of pollen for a variety of insects. This bee hovered around this particular plant for several minutes, so I was able to capture the insect in flight.
