Description

Hwaeomsa is a head temple of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism. Located on the slopes of Jiri-san, in Masan-myeon, province of Jeollanam-do, South Korea, it was constructed under the Silla dynasty in 544, burned down during the Seven Year War with Japan in the 1590s and rebuilt.
