Casio’s Exilim EX-F1 and Exilim EX-FH20 break the speed barrier
The Casio Exilim EX-FH20, like its predecessor, offers one of the fastest digital still and video capture cameras around. While the first generation of this high-speed camera came in at 6 megapixels, the EX-FH20 surpasses it with 9.1 megapixels of effective resolution, and can shoot up to 40 fps at full resolution and 1,000 fps for high-speed and HD video.
The high-speed, built-in flash lets you shoot up to 10 continuous shots at a speed of up to 5 fps. As with the EX-F1, you can use the internal LED light for shooting at 10 to 40 frames per second.
ULTRAFAST VIDEO CAPTURE
With the push of a button, you can switch between shooting high-definition 720p video or extremely fast slow-motion video, with frame rates of 30 to 210 fps, 420 fps and 1,000 fps.
A dedicated button on the exterior chooses the BS (Best Shot), which includes 18 different scene modes for a multitude of different photographic scenarios.
CATCH BEFORE PRESSING
The Prerecord function lets you save up to 40 images in the camera’s memory by pressing the shutter button halfway.
The Casio EX-FH20 increases optical zoom power to 20x, giving you a focal range from 26mm wide to 520mm.
With the mode dial, you can select between any of these shooting modes: Flash Continuous Shutter, High Speed Burst, Single Shot, High Speed Movie and High-Definition Video.
Two handy buttons let you switch immedi-ately between recording or playback, so you won’t fumble with control dials as the action passes by.
A high-resolution, 3-inch LCD makes image and video playback look great.
MOVE IN/MOVE OUT CONTINUOUS SHUTTER
This shutter function lets you record immediately before and after a subject moves out of the frame.

|It’s hard to do justice to the speed of this camera in print. This sequence was shot with the EX-F1—just six of the 61 frames it captured during a single swing. |
