  The DX-format Nikon Coolpix A offers a 16.2-megapixel sensor, a 28mm ƒ/2.8 wide-angle lens and 1080p HD video with stereo sound. Optional accessories include an optical viewfinder and the WU-1a Wireless Adapter for Wi-Fi connectivity to transfer photos to your smartphone, tablet or computer. Capture stills at 4 fps in JPEG or Nikon NEF RAW formats.

Ricoh GR

  Another wide-angle option, the Ricoh GR features a 28mm ƒ/2.8 lens and can capture 16.2-megapixel images at up to 4 fps in both RAW and JPEG modes. (The GR1 uses Adobe's DNG RAW format.) An optical viewfinder is available as an optional accessory. Full HD 1080p video recording is possible, with autofocus active while recording.

Sigma DP Series

  Sigma offers three iterations of its DP-series cameras: the DP1, DP2 and DP3. All feature the same Foveon X3 image sensor which, unlike conventional sensors, is multilayered to record RGB colors separately at each pixel. The three models are distinguished by their lenses, with the DP1 Merrill at 28mm, the DP2 Merrill at 45mm and the DP3 Merrill at 75mm.
