There are many ways to photograph the enchanting elements that make up Mono Lake. What I appreciate most about it’s beauty is the lakes huge open space. For me, the space around each tufa structure lends as much beauty to the area as the tufas themselves. To convey this, I framed the top of this tufa structure so it would end near the middle of the scene. I intended to show that negative space can be used to add a sense of peace and tranquility.
